As one of the abovementioned CFH (or at least an ad hoc ferrymaster) I appreciate you bringing some attention to our ongoing conversations(s). Speaking for myself and many other active thread members, I think Flow is a great potential SAAS that, when completed and properly priced, could be a force to be reckoned with. It's not complete, yet, and the pricing is beyond awkward. In my opinion, like some other projects I've seen, Flow's ask/give ratio is unbalanced and early, and if not addressed soon, will be the straw that keeps the camel from even getting off the ground.

You're right to suggest that others in the same boat as Metalab perk up their ears -- Flow isn't the only game in town, and more options are cropping up by the day. I for one hope their ship righted, now.

Christian, you have some great ideas here. Many of them are
already available in WebOS, where search is central to the user
experience. I know Palm flopped their marketing and thus has poor
market share, but their OS IMO has the best user experience,
especially when it comes to search. And I believe I'm speaking from
a position of knowledge as a long-time Enterprise Search
professional, and recently focusing on mobile, testing against
WebOS 2.0, iOS 4.2, and Android 2.2. Take a look at Just Type:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ixPsB7-tVGo and db8 (upcoming,
public info limited right now):
http://developer.palm.com/blog/2010/05/palm-developer-day-keynote-betting-on-the-web-and-looking-at-webos-futures/
The upshot is db8 allows third-party WebOS developers to include
their app's content in the device's native Just Type
search.

I sure hope you are right about business being the new black. Some of the things that are happening right now, still give me the feeling we have a long way to go before we are there though. It´s an exciting world for sure!

ps. Great to see you have embraced WordPress! ds.
